Seaside wine-cellars

In the heart of the Languedoc, bordering the Thau Basin and the Mediterranean Sea, our group of producers came about from the merging of the Agde and Marseillan (Hérault) cooperative wine cellars. Since 1937 we’ve been located on the Marseillan port with a beautiful view overlooking the boats.

Richemer: producer wines

Bringing together 350 wine-makers for a total of 1500 ha of vineyards, we continue being considered the largest Thau Basin port, known for its white wines which pair perfectly with oysters and its rosé wines, so ideal sipping outside on a terrace. The excellent and locally-representative grape varieties of Terret Blanc and Marselan, are our specialities.

Richemer: a legend

The name Richemer refers to a legend from the 19th century when Henri Richet, a wine-maker from Marseillan, made a fortune in selling wine thanks to the sea-faring trade. He was quickly given the name of Henri de Richemer.

Richemer: our seahorse symbol

Our symbol the seahorse was chosen as it lives quite happily in the Thau Basin – it symbolizes the diversity and wealth of our natural environment.

Richemer: wine-lovers programme

On this genuine stop-over between land and sea we propose numerous wine-tourism events: wine-tastings in our 3 wine shops, vineyard strolls, boat rides on the sea, the Fête du Primeur, our Christmas Market …. all these events and more which appeal just as much to French people as curious wine-loving tourists!
